Rip Van Winkle Wedding for Alexis and Hunter
~ Rip Van Winkle Wedding for Alexis and Hunter ~
Alexis and Hunter hired Digital Music Services to provide Ceremony DJ, Reception DJ and Reception Coordination. Despite all the rain and the tornado warnings during the early morning hours, they were not giving up on their outdoor ceremony at Rip Van Winkle Gardens located on Jefferson Island, LA. About 30 minutes before the ceremony was to begin, the rain just magically stopped. As originally planned, the couple was able to get married in front of Lake Peigneur and have the Rip Van Winkle Wedding they had hope for.
Everything fell into place, we started the ceremony music and poof, they were married. In addition, I really enjoyed their Officiant. By his own admission, he was “preaching”. It was a unique ceremony and the “Unity Cross” was the highlight of the Interlude.
They hired a “Wedding Painter” named Dirk Guidry. He set up his easel and started to create a “live painting” of their ceremony. Here is a snapshot of his one-of-a-kind painting in progress.
After being introduced, the happy couple proceeded to the cake. Her grandfather, Mr. Robinson, provided “chocolate malts” for the couple to toast with. Also, it was explained to us that it is a family tradition for everyone getting married.
First Dance
Next, the newlyweds celebrated their first dance to “Perfect by Ed Sheeran” and followed by the other formal dances.
The reception was nothing short of amazing. We coordinated the Reception and there were close to 400 people in attendance. Our DJ Services were kicking and everyone was in a great mood and ready to PARTY! The music continued for hours until it was time to send Alexis and Hunter out for their departure. The “get away car” was a white Rolls Royce. After the send off, we entertained the guests for another 30 minutes before calling it a night. In conclusion, Alexis and Hunter had a lot of fun and we enjoyed working with the other vendors. It takes a team to make an event this big a complete success.
Thanks Alexis and Hunter. Wishing you both a lifetime of Happiness!
